Construction and Materiality | 3rd semester | 2025

Building Block was a collaborative course bringing together students from the four institutes throughout the semester. Working in groups across disciplines, we studied a selected building through its construction, materials and architectural details.

My group focused on the window opening and its junction within BLDUS Alley House in Washington, D.C. We investigated how materials meet, connect and perform within the building, and translated our findings into a 1:1 physical construction of the selected detail.

The project concluded with an individual written assignment, reflecting on the building, its construction and the detail we had studied.
